i have bought all my fish small for the reason of one thing and thats it to wait till they grow and when too big will sell off and make a little profit as my bala sharks cost me 2.50 each and had for 4months then just sold to my local fish shop for $19 each as with my other cichlids in doing this process over 6 months i have taken alasse's great advice and got a fluval fx5 cannister that cost me $700 but with swapping fish and making a small profit ive only taken $150 out of my pocket to purchase it i think ive done well with that. :) i dont intend on keeping these fish till full growth and stunting there growth just waiting till too big and selling for profit to fund electricity food and fish products as hes happy to buy my fish and gladly give store credit
and my 8x2x2 is going to be a mission to fit in house as i have 11 tanks already but my daughter wants a tank to keep sharks in so im thinking 10 bala sharks will be just fine in this tank up to full size wich will take time and ill be running 2x fluval fx5 in this with air stones and wave runner thing lol
overcrowding???

grease, the fish will mature, and ever though each fish has a personality of their own, they also have instincts, and the bala sharks/silver sharks WILL wreck complete chaos in the tank
good to see the bala sharks were taken out

Good on you for upgrading your filter! And as for the price, ya gotta pay when ya buy through LFS, i know. I bought a Fluval 405 and it cost me $400 lol. I needed it then and there so i paid it. Happens to us all
Your Aussie too greasemonkey, we tend to end up paying a bit more for stuff than our upover neighbours

unfortunatley we do alasse, also id rather pay a little extra at a lfs simply because if there is any problems with it then or in future i just take it back (under warranty of course) and either they fix the problem or replace it then and there instead of a headache dealing with internet crap and postage problems as ie amazon.com especially if its urgent. also do u ALASSE think my 8 ft will be big enough for ten bala sharks and what size filter would you reccomend for it??? thanks again for your tips and advice
