Restocking my 30 gal
I will be restocking my 30 gal soon. Currently I have one Dwarf Gourami, school of neon tetras and school of danios. My wife isnt a big fan of having one fish as a centerpiece. Im lookimg for ideas using a few larger fish instead of schooling fish. I have never kept cichlids, not sure if they would be happy in my planted aquarium.

You could get a pair of bolivian rams. This is a small, peaceful cichlid that would do well in a planted tank.

or german blue rams. lol why do ya'll always suggest bolivians. Germans imo have better color. :) They can be so hard to sex but so can angels at juvenile stages. With angels or bolivians/GBRs you have to be sure when having (two) that one is male and one is female. Otherwise they do best alone, or 1m/3f. Be sure you get one of those ratios. One, one and one, or one and 3. I'm not sure about bolivians but a male pair of angels or gbrs will go at each other until one is dead, particularly in a 30gal tank.

Sorry it took me so long to get back on here. I like the idea of Angels, but can I really put 4 in there (1 male 3 females)? Dont they get in the 5-7 inch range? I was thinking maybe the Angel(s) and a few rainbowfish, say 5-6 with my cory cats on the bottom. How does this sound?

Ill have to measure it tomorrow when I get home but its the same base as my 20L, I actually have the old hood for my 30 on my 20L. A little taller than the usual 55 gallons I know. Used to have it next my old roomates 55, mine was a few inches taller.
