Heh..that's no small mix up....Get that dude some snails fast. My friend had a figure eight for almost two weeks before it died from its beak overgrowing. I can't imagine its much easier on the GSP...
Dude if I were you I would've just gone with a Dwarf/Pygmy puffer, possibly even take your GSP back..They're easier to care for, you won't need a 30+gal tank and they have just as much personality as any FW/Brack fish I've seen...

well Olive Nerite Snails do breed but their eggs to do reproduce in freshwater...so for a puffer who likes snails, forget the Olive Nerite.
as the other member stated, Ramshorn snails are best for puffers...and yes, they breed fast
