This is my first attempt at a planted tank, it is;
Tank: 70lt
Lights: 2 x 20W T4's and 2 x 20W T'8's (lights are cooled by a 12V computer extractor fan in hood)
Plants: Background = Echinodorus tenellus
Foreground = Hemianthus callitrichoides
Filtration: Old school fluval 3 external.
Ferts and Co2; Co2 is injected at 1-2 bubbles per second from a fire extinguisher setup with DIY and Tropica nutrition plant food used daily. Substrate is also from Tropica with a fine layer of gravel to prevent soil disturbance.
Fish and Inverts: 4 x otto's, 5 x Amano Shrimp and 4 x Sunkist shrimp. |

| About Yourself: |
Enter in a Petsmart following my girlfriend who wanted to get some food for our kitty. Got lost in the fish/aquarium section...whining for a tank for a week and finally got into it with a 10gallons. Since then I bought a 30 gallons that I'm struggling to run (I grow algae in it ...) and a 5.5gallons that I use as a breeder( this is not working as well ! ).
I guess I used all the foot print allowed by my girlfriend so if I want to upgrade we will need to find a bigger place ! |
| Advice: |
may be one day I will be able to give one |
| Fish Kept: |
7 Paracheirodon innesi (neon tetra), 3 Hyphessobrycon eques (serpae tetra), about 10 Neocaridina denticulata sinensis ( red cherry shrimp ), 2 Otocinclus affinis, 1 Crossocheilus siamensis (true SAE). One shrimp sold as an amano shrimp but it isn't. |

| About Yourself: |
farther kept fish when i was a child in a 6'x2'x2', we had two huge snakeheads that would eat a small child lol, after that a red tail cat, then grew a 3' arrowana. then after 15 years the tank broke and we ended up swiming, then turned the tank around and put a snake in it,
p.s for 2 year the juvenile snakeheads were in a 4' tank at the bottom of my bed till i started getting wet in the night(my feet wet from the larger fish going mad in the night, not bed wetting you understand) |
