5 December 07:
Had to remove my Bosemani Rainbow fish as most of them were suffering from dropsy and getting skinny.
Replaced them with 22 'Head and Tail Light' Tetras (Hemigrammus ocellifer). Always wanted to buy some Cardinal tetra but I felt that the choice was such a cliché. Also think their colours are a little too overwhelming for the scape.
The new guys are doing OK. The more dominant fishes tend to establish their own territories. Introduced some Cherry Shrimp yesterday but was disappointed to find the tetras attacking them (though not all the time).... Don't think they'd make it in the long run...

Quote: Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former. Sir Albert Einstein.
About Yourself: I started off by Buying a biorb 60, and I found it to be inadequate to keep even a few small tropical fish inefficient and a pain to clean. The filter and everything else was poor. I went to a large aquarium store and dove into buying a 260litre tank by Fluval. Doing extensive research on the web and practical experimentation I am now the proud keeper of 35+ various barb fish in a planted tank..and very happy with it. Learning as I go on.
Advice: Ensure your tank is cycled before introducing too many fish. Best to have a good test set for this purpose and use a Bacteria booster to get things going quicker.
Fish Kept: Barbus Tetrazona, Green Barbus Tetrazona, Puntius conchonius, Puntius nigrofasciatus, Puntius semifasciolatus, Puntius sachsii, Puntius ticto, Puntius titteya, Puntius oligolepis.
Plants Kept: Twisted vallis, Water wisteria, Straight vallis, Java fern, Cryptocoryne, Elodea densa, Java moss, Amazon swords.
Tank Size: 57
Description: Fluval Vicenza 260litres (57 gallon) 121 x 46 z 64cm. Lights T5 39w x2 power glo. External filter Fluval 405. 5kg Pressurised Co2 system with solenoid and UP co2 atomiser. Blue Led striplights for period of moonlight after lights out and before lights on. Weipro PH controller and sunsun 18w UV steriliser timed.
