LOL Tangerine! This is sooo true!
I did not realize how much I actually talk to them until my son came home for an extended visit. I guess I do a LOT, so I must look REALLY silly!

LOL Pete! I know what you mean! I have 5 cats right now! (2 are my son's). One rubs all over the side of my tank when I ignore her to talk to the fish, and another has jumped on my back! Jeez, I only have 2 hands!

I used to live in a dome in the woods and the temp would get near freezing at night in the winter. My 5 cats would sleep under the covers with me and help keep me warm.

yea it ws kinda cool. No running water or electric. We had propane delivered to run the stove, the mantle lights, and the fridge. Getting water required starting the generator and running the well pump.
There was lumber company land all around us and they let us cut dead standing wood for free so I would take the 4 wheel drive and load up, bring home, split and stack. When I went to school years ago I moved back to town as the daily chores took too much time away from my studies and work. The rent for that place was $75 a month, and 25 of that went back into the land for chainsaw maintenance, snow plowing, and other costs.
$900 per month for a 1 bedroom in considdered cheap for LA.
