Blood Parrot Aggression Levels
How do you think blood parrots would do in a community tank? I know that they're cross breeds of red devils and severums; red devils being aggressive and severums being fairly peaceful (for cichlids). So are blood parrots somewhere in between?

I've seen people keep blood parrots with various different cichlids, large tetras, silver dollars, certain bottom dwellers (I can't remember what exactly atm). I'm sure you can find the right combo of tankmates to go with a blood parrot.

Re: Blood Parrot Aggression Levels
I think when people have blood parrot aggression issues it's normally with other blood parrots. And maybe some other species of cichlids. I have heard though that blood parrots will take a rival fish and slam them against the glass using their head...so I guess if you DO get aggression issues you should nip that in the bud real quick!

So blood parrots often get aggressive with other blood parrots? Does that mean I couldn't have 2 or 3 of them in the same tank?

Re: Blood Parrot Aggression Levels
If you're concerned about aggression, add the blood parrot(s) last after you add all the other fish into the tank. Then the parrots can't claim the tank as their own from the offset and get territorial towards every new fish you introduce.
