Just like peter said. Get the fish used to the water and don't feed them or turn the light on for 24 hours

Thanks for the plug FWP. I see that you can introduce tank water into the bag without putting bag water into the tank. I guess this is the "drip" method.

I usually float the bag for 10-15 min or until the temp matches, then I place the open bag in a container and use a net to put the fish in the tank. I have never had any problems with this, but the drip method does sound like a great way to acclimate new fish.
