As the title.
I love, love, love bottom dwellers of all kinds but I don't want my tanks getting too crowded down there. What's the limit?
How many bottom dwellers is too much?

The limit more depends on what you have. Size of tank, what fish/size of fish, waste output and amount of filtration, behavior, etc.
Could you give an example? Then I could point you in the right direction. :)

Yeah even things like aeration and what (if any) plants you have can make a difference with some fish. E.g. heavily planted tanks can handle a bigger bioload. A heavily planted tank also helps break up the tank, so territorial fish aren't as prone to trying to compete for space.

I love bottom dwellers too so I know what you mean! I would just introduce fish slowly and then you'll get a good idea of what's right for your tank. Both in terms of crowded-ness and on the water quality.
