My home made 3d background in wall 180 gallon with access from the back lake Malawi setup sorry about the bad picture its from my phone. Their are 23 Cichlids, Pictus catfish and a stinkpot musk turtle, when this picture was takin I had 2 yellow fin mbamba holding fry that I had spent hours on trying to catch. I\'m going to change the blue backing to a 3d sand and water backer.also about half the plants are real. If you want to know more check out my page and/or just ask.

When you say ordered you mean online? As in not hand picking? I thought about doing that but hell I even have to watch the LFS like a hawk or you end up with a flame tail instead of a f nyrerei. Then you can hand pick mates you want to mix colors with. But all in all I like the tank one day maybe I'll get around to new stock and pics. I've also often wondered about the homemade backgrounds if the fish can and do use it as hiding. With cichlids obviously huge. I've wanted to tackle a project like that. And dang it if I can't keep a live plant in the ground. Cichlids are still worth it all! Nice job even at 180 it's still never enough lol.

And the fish do use my background, the only downfall is they get in them and you can't get them out. So I guess no fry for me. LOL
