I currently have a 20 gallon tank that has regular community fish and about 7 plants e.g bana lillies. It is currently lit by a desk lamp with a flourescent globe. I am getting a lot of brown algae throughout the tank. I read that this is caused by insufficient UV. (I think).
What kind of lighting do i need? I don't understand anything about lighting and my local pet store doesn't stock lighting at all.
I am in Australia and do not have access to all the cool fish shops in the US that everyone talks about. A link to a site where I can buy what I need and some sorely needed advice would be great! Thanks
Lighting for my 20 gallon tank.

This website seems to have good info on brown algae, Another thing you can try is get an algae eating fish like a pleco. By the way i have no cool fish shops around either.
