my EBJD is hanging around above my filter and he has only just started to do it. he has been fine for about a week up untill now?

please give me any suggestions on what to do

Get a liquid test kit.... Test the water... Post Results. Only then can we narrow down the possibilities of the problem. To me right now your water conditions may be out of wack and we need to get them in of wack. I'd do a 20% water change right now.

thanks, he has moved away from teh filter now and has been swimming around for about 2hours now. so hopefully nothing is wrong.
btw this is a new set up so i was going to do a water change 2moz but do you think i should do it now.

Anytime I notice any differences in fish when in doubt change it out I always say. Then I test after it has a chance to turn over at least once just as an extra precaution.

i did a 20% water change and the water is still a bit cloudy. is this becuase its a new tank with all new water and sand.
