rhondaks, can you please give us the exact numbers on your water tests for:
ammonia
nitrite
nitrate
ph
temperature
also if you do the following tests for:
oxygen
phosporus
iron
the first group is a must...can we have the latest exact figures? And if it is not too much of a problem, can you test once before the water change and do another test after the second water change, and give us the exact figures for both tests?
Thanks much
Hi Nitrites

Things are finally better I guess it is finally Cycled. I tested yesterday morning and the Nitrite were.25 and today they are 0.
Ammonia is 0
ph is 8.2 (cichlids)
Nitrates 20
Temp is 79
I don't have the equipment to test for oxygen, phosphorus, iron
But I have a duel filter ment for a 60 gallon tank, 1- 8inch air wand with a 10 gallon pump and a round air stone with a 40 gallon pump.
I really appreciate all the help and advise I have gotten I will definitely recommend this site to others.

rhondaks, all those test scores are normal, glad to see you got it within range
just one last tip for you, with a 60 gallon tank, you should have filtration, either with one filter or by using two, that amounts to 600 gph (gallons per hour). There is never enough filtration, in this area, the more the better.
So if you can, get that filtration at a higher/better rate, and in time, you'll have an established tank (which usually takes about 6-12 months).
Anyway, good to see things are fine...let us know how it goes over time.
