Parrot Fish with MBuna Cichlids
Thinking about buying a couple of Red Parrot fishes to add to my African Cichlid tank. I mostly have Mbuna and Peacock fishes. Do they get along okay? I know the parrot fishes come in a good bright red color, and I need some red in my tank. Thoughts?

You have a messed up mix... I would just stock females of fish you already have. Just add like 10 female mbuna(assuming you have some females and some males as of now)

Parrot are american cichilids ( am I correct on this??? ) and Mbuma are African. Y ou shouldnt mix the two because of different pH.

mro2you2, please speak on experience.....
Have have some success mixing these fish, ph is not an issue with store bought freshwater fish in most cases, as long as your water has a ph of 6.6-8.5
Just take my advise from the previous post and you will be very happy.

I agree with josmoloco. Regionality is not an issue unless they are wild caught (F0 or F1). Parrots are not red, those parrots are injected with dye which fades to a dull orange. You can get some female peacocks with red in them or even some ruby reds (SA cichlids) if the color is that important.
