ok obviously everyone's getting confused. GSP (filmoreslim) = Green Spotted Puffer = (mor2's) "Spotted Puffer". These are FW juveniles which in short time need to be converted to brackish.
Dwarf/Pygmy/Pea Puffers (PK and filmoreslim) are as the name implies.. permanently FW and their size makes them a bit more workable with tank mates..
I'm more informed and experienced with the latter.

brackish puffers should be maintained in a species tank... they are stupid fish that will bite at anything that moves...
i've seen people try to have a fuhaka puffer with cichlids just because they chill in the same lake... but they shouldn't be in the same tank...!

yeah by the sounds of it I'd consider taking gumbii's advice very soon. Unless you'd like a tank with just your GSP in it.

I had 3 dwarfs in my 16gal and they ignored everything, except my shrimp. They were adults.
I didn't have any flashy colored long finned fish in there though. Just some rummynose tetras.
I wouldn't keep them with angels, bettas, guppies, or rams..

Gumbii, do you have any experience w/figure 8 puffers? I'm thinking about converting my 30 gallon into a brackish tank & would really like one. I've heard that figure 8s are more aggressive towards their OWN species than to other species. Do you know if that is true?
