Pretty interesting to see what these salt mixes actually contain.

I've been using Red Sea for a while now and I love it. I still add essential elements, such as calcium, magnesium, essential elements, coral-vite, and PH buffer. However, I've noticed considerable growth in my corals since I switched over several months ago. However, I did get a new tank and upgraded my lighting three months ago, which of course made a difference. I thought about changing to a cheaper salt like Coralife or Instant Ocean, but decided not to change what's working.

+1 to newbie, if it aint broke dont fix it, Changing salts may do more harm then good. i have used Coralife since i started the hobby and i will never change, Its cheap, and avalible everywhere here, also some of the best tanks i have ever seen use IO.

Newbie where are your tank pictures ?

I haven't been able to post any pics because I haven't had time to figure out how to make them smaller. For some reason, they are still too large. I'll have to figure it out one of these days

I am making the switch to reef crystals. The lfs ran out of IO and HAD to use reef crystals...1 dollar a gallon....it was a steal. My tank perked right up to the change. Probably going to switch. I just get my water tested with them, and saw they had a new thing thought I would share. :)
