Red Coris Wrasse MIA ?

by photopro8186246

I got a Red Coris Wrasse about 2 weeks ago. And he was fine he was coming out around 9am and hiding around 5pm. Last 3 days he didn't come out at all and i don't wona go looking for him until i know he is really dead. Water test/temp is perfect. He was eating fine and no one was picking on him.

My six line wrasse has a tendency to hide a lot. Now hes fat......but he used to hide a lot. At night he encases himself in a white sack....and sleeps. I dont know why....but its cool as shit. He looks dead......and you can pick him up and move him.....and he wont wake up....next morning hes flying around the whole tank. As long as your levels are okay.....he should be there. Unless you have a cat......

Wrasses can be tricky with acclimation. I don't mean just the acclimation to your tank. Acclimation from the wild and actual seawater to captivity and synthetic seawater can be very tough. Most any wild caught fish should see 3-4 weeks at your LFS before it ever gets to your tank. My philosophy is, if a fish is going to die, i'd rather it die at the store rather than in my tank.
