thank for the reply but it all gone now i went to my lfs store and he recommended me some strange species of snails and they tore through it in about a week so im all good now

whats the species ???? i need to get some myself

shig.........i've used phosban in the pellet form and even the sheet form and i have yet to see it do anything - - - i took it out and nothing has changed either.....could i have gotten two different "Bad" ones???

Boss. You need GFO (grannular ferric oxide)--- it looks like this http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/p ... catid=8996 -- Rowaphos and Pura Phosloc work just as well.

GFO is meant to be run in a fluidized bed filter like the phosban reactor made by Two Little Fishies. http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/p ... atid=11586

i had it in a bag like carbon in one of the trays of my wet/dry.............is that not correct? - - -it was chemi-pure also not phos-ban

That's not nearly as efficient as being in a reactor with the water being pushed up through it.

I have never seen that particular media but it looks like it just has some ferric oxide mixed in. If you are trying to pull the phosphates out, nothing beats 100% ferric oxide in a fluidized bed(reactor).

Be careful if you have any SPS coral because stripping phosphates too quickly can cause bad things to happen to those corals.

I have 2 of these reactors running 24/7. One always has GFO media and the other has straight carbon.
