Help Please (PH problem)

by gdeeber

I just had a senior moment. I have been dosing my tank every other day with Seachem's Reef Builder to increase my Carbonate. Today I mistakenly dosed with Seachem's Reef Buffer which raises PH level. I did not realize my mistake until this evening. I can't do a water change until tomorrow because I just mix a batch of salt with R/O water. Should I leave it until tomorrow or do a water change with a hot mix?

Thanks

well.....whats your ph reading? if its not insanely high.....I dont see a big deal. I run mine 8.3-8.5 tank does fine. you could always throw a little calcium in there to counter it. it will pull your alkalinity down a little too. unless your looking into 9 or up.......no biggie until tomorrow. just add some calcium...just keep your calcium under 500ppm and your good.

Throw a little calcium in there. you should be fine. This is going to sound bad.......but i have NEVER tested my ph in my tank. usually when you buffer your water.....most buffers wont take it above 8.5. add a little calcium and it will pull it down to the right level. dont go crazy though. haha

thats crazy, i thought seachem claimed it would not raise your ph beyond 8.3 even if inadvertently overdosed
