Petco.com is generally running the best specials on those... amazon.com ran one a while back, and I got another XP2 for my boyfriend's tank for $100. Sweetest deal ever.
Don't feel inadequate! In a way, it's even MORE adequate, because it had you fooled into thinking it was filtering 75 gallons, when really, it was made for 45.

Naw if there's one important thing I've gotten from this forum its that overfiltration is never a dangerous thing (unless you're putting your fish in category 5 hurricane force currents throughout the whole tank because of it) lol.
It was a bit of a jest though. I also have a 170gph powerhead with a sponge running, so I know I have some good filtration. It just could have been MORE! argh.

lots of filtering is good, I knew that, just its better for planted tank for not a lot of water movement at the surface, more Co2 that way

I think plecos don't eat brown algae, either. Ghost shrimp are scavengers, and eat fish poop and whatever they find in the gravel.

i bought three amanos, but they have been getting picked on because of their size, so untill they grow, the will just hide behind the filter or heater.

ya, the angel is only about 1 inch long and 1 inch tall, not that big... and the corydoras kind of startle them when they swim by. and the serpae tetras kind of did at first but nothing picks on them anymore.

Yeah corys when in numbers can be kinda oblivious to whats going on around them. At least my little pandas are. lol They swim all over my striped raphael catfish which is now 4x the size of some of them. Kinda a sleeping giant during the day.
Don't know how many amanos you have but its good to hear they're not getting picked on anymore. They're most at ease in #'s of 6 or more. Just an fyi. Expensive little buggers from where I buy them though..a $7 cleaner shrimp. what a rip.
