Toadfish Not Eating

by Serial324556

So the last couple of weeks my Toadfish hasn't really been eating that well. You give him a Silverside and he takes it really quick and then a few minutes later spits it out.
I haven't really changed any routines with feeding him. I usually feed him every other day and hes been eating fine until a couple weeks ago and now it's hard to get him to eat.

Could the Silversides be freezer burned? Maybe they are bad?
My Cichlids have some babies in there too. Could this be a reason?

Any advise on how to get him to eat. I was wondering if I bought come garlic gaurd if that would give him more of an appetite.

Thanks,
-Serial

Thanks for the concern!

Anybody have any suggestions? Do you think my Silversides are bad, do you think that the GarlicGaurd would get him liking them again?

He doesnt seem to like krill. He gets real excited when I put it in there but then spits it up.
I put a small red crab in there a couple weeks ago and I'm pretty sure he ate it because I woke up and all I saw was a leg laying in the sand. Those are expensive though for feed at $2-$3 a pop.

Well not that it means tons but I saw marinedepot advertising the garlic stuff as a great hunger stimulating additive. As far as they said its all natural so it can't hurt..
Maybe he's becoming more finiky as he ages and perhaps this is a supplement you'll have to go with for awhile --- if it works.

My puffer isn't as voracious with snails as he used to be since his ich infection that almost killed him. He seems like a weaker fish, but is still very alert. Though this doesn't sound like its your problem...just finiky-ness.

Update:
He hasn't been eating the Silversides to this date but he ate one of my Convicts last night and they are about 3 or 4 times the size of the Silversides.

His stomach is frickin huge, the biggest I've ever seen it I can't believe he fit a whole convict cichlid in his stomach.

Now he is sitting fat and happy in his tube in the rock wall. Silly Oscar, Convict Cichlids ARE NOT FOR EATING! lol

Ever since he ate that Cichlid, he's been sitting in his cave. Hasn't come out at all for anything.

hopefully he's just chilling like a snake after the big kill. Can't be easy trying to digest that convict. :/

As of today Oscar is now out an about. I just looked in the tank with lights off and he is sitting on top of the rock wall and I tapped on the glass and he came out to the front to see me.

He has been hiding in his cave for 2-3 weeks. I think the problem was that he was just trying to digest that big Cichlid. I am going to buy him a new batch of Silversides and some feeder fish and try to feed him in a few days.
