I still like some whole catfish, the real catfish like 10 to 14 inches in length with some cornmeal and hot grease, not the cory.

to get last of the last snail, u gonna have to strip ur tank. I did and still had 2 to 3 snails appear after all the cleaning.. I crushed them and hope they are gone bye-bye!

Perhaps the reason you've never heard of/seen one over 4" is because most keepers fail to meet the other reqs of the fish (as described in the species index@loaches.com)and as such the mortality rate is much higher in captivity. My brother had one that grew to 7" before it died, and I've even seen them at one of my LFS's at 4+". They require extremely good filtration, lots of room, a proper diet, and being a hillstream loach need a great deal of current (think stream here) for longevity. I dont think a site dedicated to loaches would lie about maximum size. Though as I said before I don't think a clown loach would grow to 16" in any aquarium no matter how favorable the conditions.

so i did some reading lastnight, clown loaches do tend to get quite large, but skunk and dojo loaches get under 6in but they tend to be rough on plants i guess, and large a large number of snails is a sign of a dirty tank.

I-have-an-empty-tank-with-only-snails-and-a-filter-running-as-a-quarantine/feeder-fish-tank......It's-full-of-snails,-and-I-only-rarely-add-any-food.
Dojos-are-cool-and-I-have-them-with-plants-and-a-flourite/Eco-Complete-substraight......If-the-plants-are-rooted-well-enough-they'll-be-OK-but-I-don't-know-if-Dojos-will-eat-snails.
I-wonder-if-SAE's-will-eat-the-egg-clusters?
