Mosquito larvae as food
I'm in Florida so naturally I have plenty of mosquitoes in my yard and I was wondering if I could put these pesky critters to any use? I'm sure my pond fish enjoy the mosquitoes' larvae but what about aquarium fish? Is it okay / feasible?

I have heard mention of this before. My only question would be how do you go about removing the mosquito larvae from whatever they were growing in and put them into your aquarium?

I was thinking I'd probably need to use a turkey baster for transferring. That's what people do with daphnia anyway so I guess the same should work with mosquito larvae.

This sounds like a fun experiment! I'd try it.

Lol yeah that's what I though. I also like giving my fish a variety of healthy, natural foods if I can and what's more natural than mosquito larvae?

I like this! Beats paying high prices for live food, and I think it would be especially worth it if you have fish that really need live food like for picky fish/breeding conditioning/fry/etc.
