Last liquid test results as of Sunday (September 30, 2012) - I perform all liquid tests every Sunday are as the following:

temperature: 76-80
ammonia: 0
nitrite: 0
nitrate: 30

The last time ammonia was higher than 0 was on April 15, 2012 at 0.25, where I performed all the other liquid tests:

temperature 76-80
nitrite: 0
nitrate: 30
PH (High): 7.6
PH (low): 7.6
KH: 4
Oxygen: 9
Phosphate: 0
Silicate: .04
Copper: 0
Iodine: none
CO2: 7

If you watch the video on youtube you will see how lively the fish are; how clear the tank is; how the live plants are flourishing; how the agitation at the water surface is providing the much required oxygen in the water column; and even see the naturally raised - well pruned - cladophora algae that grows simply by having natural sunlight, water and nutrients in the tank.

A simple "muah" in text will suffice...I await the delight (((smiles)))

Okay, i have to admit, your tank seems to be doing much better than i thought it would after a year of no water changes. However, my opinion has not changed that water changes are the most simple and effective way of maintaining high water quality. I tend to agree with alasse on this issue and i fear that eventually things could go really bad for you. But, i do concede that i lost the bet, since after a year there are no obvious sighns of imminent catastrophe.

Your plants are looking nice and healthy. I like the natural lighting.

Certainly appreciate the compliments Natalie.

I'll be moving in the next month or so, so (again) I will uproot the plants, but the last time I moved, the plants were fine after about a month of adjustment. I'll let you know how it goes. I'll put up new pictures of the tank in December or so of the tank.

Again, thanks for the compliments.

So, if you're moving does that mean you'll be doing a water change?

Technically, I guess so - I didn't think of this until you pointed this out lol

But once the move is complete, I will continue to not water change...so I guess, by default, Alasse and yourself get a reprieve (((smiles)))
