Any other fish in the tank?
Heavily planted or sparse?

Ya wanna buy 8-10 small angels, that way you will have the best chance of getting a pair if that is what you are after. Grow em out, once a pair forms remove the rest and trade them

In the wild they lay their eggs on the broad leaves of plants: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/c ... n_leaf.jpg

People in captivity like to use traffic cones or pieces of slate if they want to be able to pull the eggs out and hatch them without the parents. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8WeL-jwTtsQ/T ... Bslate.jpg

The 'tank has quite a lot of room' does not give me the tank dimensions. Cant suggest anything until that at the least is known. Especially now i know you have a common pleco in there
