Hi everyone,
I've gotten a lot of questions about "What's that really cool fish in your profile picture, Erica?" I had promised a lot of you that I would let you know when I finally started offering the pygmy sunfish for sale so, as promised, here's the announcement. For the first time ever, I am offering my Elassoma gilberti on aquabid. I started the bidding at $1, so they're pretty cheap.
Here is a hyperlink to the auction, which is on aquabid.com

I've bred them in both pH 6.5, DH 0 and pH 7.5, DH 16 to 20. They don't really seem to care what pH or DH they have. As long as you feed them they'll breed.

Florida and southern Georgia.
They live in alligator infested water, in the plants close to the shore.
The water that drains into the Gulf of Mexico has Elassoma gilberti and the water that drains into the Atlantic Ocean has Elassoma okefenokee. They're very similar species, and you can't really tell them apart by looking at them. The ancestors of my fish originally came from roundabouts Tallahassee, so they're E. gilberti.
