need information about my apple snail

by cjames96

Please help been reading around and it says i need a space above water level for my apple snail if there is not enough oxygen which i have done. But does there need to be a platform there seems as my tank is decently tall? Plus it keeps climbing up and down the tank but not going above the water level does anyone know why it is doing this? PLEASE HELP :)

thank you,
corey

You do not need a platform. They really only need a larger space if laying eggs, as the females come out of the water to do so. If you only have 1 then breeding will not be an issue as a male and a female are required. The snails have a breathing tube, if they require more air they will just put that just above the water surface, so if you are not breeding just a small space between water level and glass is required.

They cruise the glass, up and down, its normal behaviour :)
