Discus tank help!!!!
Hi friend im bring 40 discus. I want to know how to increase or decrease the ph level. And how to test the ammonia, nitrite and nitrate, in india its not possible to get a ammonia, nitrite and nitrate test kit so how to test without a kit ? I have cycled my tank wit 6guppies for about 46days. Tell what should the temp level should be for a show tank of discus and what temp level should a breeding tank be, and does a breeding tank need to be cycled or use the show tank water which discus is living in before ?

hmmm... considering your dilemna,i would suggest peat to lower ph, and baking soda to increase ph, i dunno about the testing, i used most of my water from my original tank when i transfered my african cichlids to a new tank, and use a filter that was in the tank before , if possible.i believe discus need warm water in the low to mid 80's (82-84*f) should be fine.
