cloudy water

i had my fish tank setup for a week with no fish in it. then i put my fish in and a week and a bit laterits still a bit cloudy is this normal?

Yes this is normal it is a bacteria bloom which means your tank is cycling you should get a test kit to test ammonia nitrite and nitrate when it is done cycling ammonia nad nitrite will read zero and nitrate will be between 20 and 40 ppm do a 20% water change a week until cycled

thanks for telling me and i was just wondering how long would it be if i dont add any chemicals to it. btw nice tank

I would say typically it would take about a month to cycle without chemicals but it can vary greatly. Anywhere from about 2-6 weeks. Your tank already got cloudy though so I would say relatively soon.
