most likely its bloat or an internal parasite not pregnant most gouramis are male they dont really sell females they dont look as nice as male

yes she is a female the lady told us and also on the paper they gave us about the informatin on the fish it said it was a female and the other one was a male

do the scales on the stomach seem to b seperating? if so its most likely sick,ive never noticed fish getting fat when pregnant n living 9 blocks from lake michigan ive cought about a 1000 trout n salmon n never know there full of eggs till i fillet them

Some female fish do swell due to eggs prior to spawning.
