Black Algae in my planted tank WTF
In the last couple days i noticed this black algea growing on some of my plants, and in other area of my tank. What the hell is it, and how do I kill it ? I'll post a pic soon

make sure you aren't overfertilizing and increase your water changes may also help cure this problem

If its a fuzzy black algae, Black beard algae, it can be difficult to eradicate. Squirting Seachem Excel directly onto it will kill it. If it appears generall it indicates there is not enough carbon source in the tank

If you break up the light cycle in the tank (ie: 4 hours of light, two hour break, followed by 4 hours of light) it may help reduce the algae growth in your tank.
