I have a tank that is 2 foot x 1 foot x 1 foor 6 inches. What type and what size filter do i need for the tank to function properly. I also need to know what size heater I need.

at least 300 gallons per hour (gph) preferably with bio-wheels
a good 150-200 heater set at 75 F will help (this is after you bring the temperature down from 86 - see other thread)
appears you have 20-30 gallon tank (non-metric)

The tank is 81litres (20gal). A 150 watt heater will be sufficent (i have 88litre tanks and 150 is what i use)
