DIY CO2 prodject

by nicholas542

Well I just started my diy Co2 prodject got a pretty good recipe for making reaction.

Recipe:
1. 2 Cups of Sugar
2. 1/4-1 teaspoon of yeast (more yeast = faster reaction = more CO2 for shorter time (2+ weeks))
3. 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda (optional)

I used a Oceanspray bottle, adjustable gang valve, airstone for a defuser, and airline of course. Experiment started i'll add 5ML of Flourish Excel instead of my typical 15ML, untill I can see the diy system working.

sweet it works i got Co2 bubbles coming out of my airstone. The bubbles are really fine, not big bubbles. Cheap Co2 system is working so far.

If you can find champagne yeast, it lasts a bit longer, but even with champagne yeast, mine usually peters out after about a week. I DO use a bit more yeast than your recipe, so that could be why.

Yea it's true I've been experimentingwith more and less. I think I've got too much salt in my tank for the cichlids my plants arent doing very well still? I'm a lil sad. Just gotta do some more research I guess. Congrats on the new project!
