Marine snow

by Legalizeg13

When you feed with marine snow you are instructed to shut off your pump but I know many people with thriving systems that don't now I would imagine that the filters would deplete the snow I have alot of bio balls like 7 gal of them do I have to shut down to dose ms

I wouldnt dose marine snow......its like adding straight phosphate into your tank. which inhibits growth, it does not promote. Also bioballs in a reef tank will cause nitrates........which cause algae. They may not right now......but they will. Just some heads up on that.

A UV sterilizer will just keep algae blooms away. I don't feed my corals...If your lighting is strong enough...you dont have to. I do target feed the day before my waterchange...just because its easy to take out the nutrients from the tank that arent needed. :)
