I thanked you dude! I just don't like when my head swells too much.
Good luck with the reef tank. It's still too soon for me as I hear they're a lot harder than fresh water, and more expensive, especially for the lights coral need to grow.
I appreciate it, and "guru?", which someone else said. WOW!

As far as stress coat itself, when I first got into this hobby, I tried stress coat, and I had seen little difference. But over the beginning months in this hobby I have conluded that chemicals of any sort must never be added to the tank except during a water change (for instance, Prime). I use to add fertizilzer tablets to the gravel at first, stopped this too (I let fish poop do this).
What I have attempted to do is create an ecosystem that depends mostly on itself, and I only intervene when necessary. Observation is key; the more experienced the fishkeeper is, observation alone will help to prevent problems about 75% or more of the time (dependent upon experience). So I agree 100% on the observation matter Bruce.
The stress coat is in the Prime. When Prime is added to the water, you can see very clear the oily substance (stress coat). I primarily use Prime because in our neighborhood, the water company adds so much chlorine to the water that when I replace the water in the tank, the ammonia level automatically shoots to 2.0 ppm, so in my case, I have to add 3 times as much as I should of Prime (which is safe to do so) in order to counteract the ammonia level.
Thanks for the compliment. Let us know how it goes with Prime (Prime is a little more expensive than other brands but well worth the price)
