Fish tank aeration

by MatthewV

I am seeking information about how long a fish tank air blowers last.
This blower is not going to be the most accessible, so servicing it only twice a year is desirable.
Is there any brand that people have found to be more reliable? For sizing, I only need 0.15CFM (~5LPM) but larger sizes could work also.

Thank you.

If your talking about an air pump, go to walmart and get you a tetra whisper. They are nice and quiet and very powerful. As far as I know they dont need servicing. :)

And how long would you expect such an air pump to last?

I have had mine almost two years. ( I dont use it anymore) But it worked great. I dont need it anymore which is why I dont use it. I liked it, it liked to vibrate......but no biggie there. This website is the one I post on mostly now, they have reviewers like me that get sent products to rip apart and try and beat down until we figure out if we like it or not. Im testing out an Eheim 1260 right now, so far its a beast. Theres a lot of great reviews here. Those reviews are pretty in depth......and if you want to ask any of the reviewers a question you can. hope that helps
