saltwater plants?

im thinking of putting some plants into my tank. its a 20 gal. and currently i only have a 13watt light. im in the process of getting a new light. . . but i wanted to know how many watts of light per gallon saltwater plants require, anyone know? and i heard that plants will help with nitrates, true?

plants are helpful, but they're usually go into your sump. Caulerpa for example.

i would start 3 to 6 watts a gallon for softies, learn not to kill them before moving on to lps.sps witch require alot more light.

yeah ive heard that they go in the sump, but i think i want them in my main tank, i dont have much in there, and plants are cheap. but yeah, does it do anything to lower nitrates?
