sand bed

by FRMNUTN2SUMTN4672

40 lbs of LS gave me one inch of bed but not all around. The left side of my 65g is very thin. Can i leave it to make cleaning easy and see detritus of would i need the additional bag. LR will aid and the ls will not be the only source of bio filt.

from my expierience with sand {recently switched from crushed coral to sand] the ditritus stays pretty much on the top - -so ease of cleaning is really not a concern from 1 inch to 4-5-6-7-8. if anything i'd put more in if it's not a problem so you can "anchor" any live rock structures you may build in there - also when you put live rock in make sure you squirm it down to the bottom glass so lil sand fishies don't under mine it and you end up with a rock slide onto a fish or worse crack the glass - - just for referance i have 40 lbs live sand and 15 lbs of live rock in my 20 gallon long tank - - good luck

yea i agree with snow. but also might i add. another 20 lbs u might be better off. cuz u got 65 g right? so 60 lbs or ls should be good. i have 40 in my 50 g. just a thought tho. but if u get another bag. u should be able to get a nice layer all around ;], good luck
