you would need a lot of open sand. Maybe two tiers of rock and the rest sand. with some swimming room. As long as you had that.....you should be good. My lfs had bought a black tang.....died four days after he bought it. :( he paid 400 for it so he lost 400 bucks! Just be careful with it and make sure you tank is VERY stable. Cause those things are fragil like all exotics.

I had one for about 2 weeks He was great. ate out of my hand and every thing. Then I bought a nice size stars and stripes puffer. 2 days later he got ick. The treatment was copper safe and reef safe. but ray died 2 days after that. I was not a good day. rays are just very touchy when it comes of meds. so take caution.

i had planned on just using a 96" flourescent light fixture. nothing high intensity and expensive since im not aiming for a reef tank this time. im not even sure of what kinda bulbs yet. and as for teh skimmer i will probably use 3 or maybe even 4 seaclones in the sump and/or hob. or a may just save up and buy something new.

i just want a specimen tank that will make people say "wow". any suggestions of a slightly easier to care for animal that would look amazing in the tank?

you could buy a basket star. They are cool as hell. They look like a living tree trunk.

4 seaclons that would be a headach for sure, do you have 4 seaclones, sell em for 60 bucks each and get a ASM or a Octopus skimmer..^+ 1 to the basket star

yeah dude.......pimp is right.........get yourself one good one. It would be less of a pain in the @!# to take care of.....plus less power.......pluss less to go wrong.....plus I dont think that 4 sea clones would be enough....but thats just me.
