Silicone 1??

by dizzcat

OK, I think I am sure that Silicone 1 is the safe stuff, right? I just bought some and want to be double sure before I use it. I usually get the stuff at Lowels that says Aquarium silicon, but they were out so bought the other big one instead.

This is the stuff I bought, the right stuff??

yeah silicone 1 is what you want, as long as it is clear, and it says nothing about "anti - mildue" it will be fine it will stink to high heavens but it will be fine, it will say on the tube, "not for aquarium use" but i did some reserch on it and basically that comes down to a legal thing.

I just read on Cichlid-Forum that the reason it no longer says for aquariums is because it is actually the stuff that All Glass sells as aquarium sealant. They said that All Glass buys the stuff from GE then packages it as theirs. Something of that nature :-)

Then they sell it for 3x the price... What a scam.
