Coral Beauties or Flame Angels Reef Safe?

by newbie916

My wife and I were at our LFS today and she really liked the Coral Beauties and Flame Angels. They say they're reef safe with caution. What do you guys think? If not what are some pretty fish that are reef safe?

Thx

I've seen a lot of both in reef tanks. As long as they get enough food I would think that you shouldnt have to worry about them eating your corals. Hopefully someone that is certain and more knowledgable will chime in...

they are reef safe. but angels have been known to occasionally nip at corals. If you keep them well fed they shouldn't be a problem. The larger angels are what you have to worry about. I've had a flame angel, they are so beautiful, their colors are just amazingly vivid.

I would rate their look as one of the top saltwater fish.

Thanks guys, I think I'm going to go with the Flame Angel. My LFS had a few for $29 and was one of the only times my wife told me to get something:)haha Do you think it will be OK with my 7" Blue Hippo, 4" Yellow, 4" Sailfin, and my Maroon Clown. The Flame is probably only 2.5" and I'm afraid the other guys might beat him up. I haven't added any new fish for a year, since my Bi-Color Blenny killed a Watchman Goby I bought.

Thanks
