got my rock

by mralanjones

I recently purchased some dry rock. I am cleaning it now. I was wondering how long would it take to become live rock

marco rocks? thats some good stuff if so. probably see life forms starting to jump on in around a month or so......fully live probably 6-12 months. It will still hold the bacteria......it will just take a while for it to get the essential worms and algaes on it. Did you see it with some premium live rock?

Yeah I would. It will help seed the rest of your tank. If you dont mind the smell........and your still in the cycling process......get uncured. If you dont want smell and are done with cycling get cured. One has more life than the other.....but it also has dead stuff too. A nice piece of premium rock with all the dry rock and it will seed nicely. make sure you keep a bio load of some sort in there too. I feed my tank phytoplan......it makes my tube worms come out of no where. I have thousands on my back wall. and my tank has only been up for 9 months.
