Kenyi Male or Female?
So I have had what I thought to be a male Kenyi now at about 4 inches and has always been a bright yellow. Over the last few weeks however he has turned a purplish hue. He resides as the only kenyi in my 60 gallon peacock tank of mostly grey females and is the dominant fish. It has one egg spot and is surprisingly peaceful with the other cichlids it has been raised with. I read a few articles about sex change in cichlids and found really nothing concrete so I am puzzled about this color change. Any ideas would be appreciated, thank you and Happy Holidays.

Thats one strange color change, it doesnt even look kenyi anymore. But males do disguise themselves every now and then, for no reason that I know of.

Nah that isn't a kenyi male or female. I have kenyi's and it looks nothing like them.
Check out this link. There are many fish on here that look like that.

Body shape, definately metriaclima. Color, has me stumped. Wether its kenyi or not, the only way to tell gender and be 100% positive, is to vent the fish. As gender was the primary concern.
