how do you get moss and plants to grow on to rocks and logs?

i would like to know how to get mosses and plants to grow onto logs and rocks. i see tanks with stones and logs with fury stuff growing on them and i think it's a good effect. by the way i don't mean algae.

I used to tie moss or plants onto logs/rocks with clear fishing string. After a while the plant/moss will attach itself to the object and you can cut the string.

yeah use fishing line or cotton thred make sure it is 100% cotton though because if the fish eat it they can digest cotton....

tie the moss to rocks or wood by thread, preferrably a tan color or something of a light color. the thread will dissolve over time as the moss grows

same goes with plants...not all plants do well on wood or rocks. Java fern do very well on wood; anubias can be either in gravel or on wood/rock. be sure to check out which plants you use.
