Dual Canisters

by FRMNUTN2SUMTN4672

Is dual canisters (Fluval 404 and eheim) sufficient filtration for a fo tank. crushed coral substrate and lace rock in tank. 65gallon. the protein skimmer will be added down the line. i dont intend to go above 6-8 fishes

Sounds good to me. Don't rush on those fishes though! How about 4-6 instead of 6-8?

i will not add in one shot...i meant over time....depending on compatibility and temperture preferences of the species i chose will determine if i stop at around 5 or 6 instead of a couple more. def not above 7 or 8 ....i was thinking the noodles in the filter has enough surface for good bacteria colonization but what about my crushed coral substrate...will that accumulate an efficient bio filtration to keep the nitro cycle in check...its not exactly live sand but i had it in my tank from my cichlid setup

I've had them for about a year, had no pain with mine, I get used to it along the way.. Then I switched for a wet/dry. OH YEAH BABY!! Something I'll never regret.

chiclid sand has a low buffer . if you can afford some aragonite or crushed coral it will help stabalize your ph just my opinion.

Yes, crushed corals are also very beneficial, and will help to estabilish your system.
