I was trippin out because a young blue Kenyi I believed to be a famale has grown a white spot on her anal fin. It has been about a week now and a male kenyi, same age but larger, growing much faster has just developed a couple yellowish spots on his anal fin. Now I am sure both fish have "egg spots". Does that mean they are both male, and the smaller one just hasnt started changing colors yet?
I have read mixed information. Some people are saying they both can get egg spots. Some say only males get egg spots. And from what I have seen they are always yellow.
So whats up with my little blue Kenyi with the white egg spot?
hmmm

I don't have any Kenyi but from what I understand males will turn yellow and females stay blue. Also, I think all female Mbuna can get egg spots. My female Acei all have at least one egg spot and a Electric yellow that I know is a female (she held) has a small egg spot on her too.
