Eel recovered completely!

by Peterkarig3210

Well.....The eel I found in the lfs dumpster almost dead 2 days ago is energetic and seemingly fine today. It's in a really small tank because I thought it would take a while to nurse it back if that was even possible. It was like not able to go from an upside down position to right side up it was so weak when I found it and the water in the bag it was in was hot too. I had them squirt oxygen into the bag and when I got home it was already a lot better.

The store said it was from a bad batch, and wasn't eating, and was dieing too.
Whatever.

It seems to want to stick it's head out of the water in the corners and hang there. I hope this is normal behavior.

TC for trashcan. I guess I won't get too sure about it making it till I see it eat. I'll get silversides tonight.

Yeah not to ruin your buzz but animals can fool ya man. Glad to hear he appears to be through the thick of the woods though. =D

Blimpie fooled me into thinking he was completely dead, for almost 12 hours. How rude...

And then I've had fish that fooled me into thinking they were perfectly happy with where I put them and 48 hours later with little sign before its last 3 hours, went kaput. -.-

I hope it works out for you though. If you're gonna put a lid on that tank or w/e the eel will end up make sure its tight and heavy cause I've read they're strong as crap and will knock stuff off the top of the tank....I don't think they'll actually climb out though. That'd be kind've anti-survivalist stuff..

Thanks guys. Tc's still not as strong as he should be and I wasn't able to get the silversides today. I'll get em tomorrow and I'll try to get it to eat. He may have eaten some blood worms but I can't really tall. I may get a mangrove tree and because the water is mostly as salty the ocean maybe some natural decoratons like more rocks and wood.
