About Yourself: Im am a 22 year old young man who is currently setting up a business setting up and maintaining aquariums in the north west of England, If you know anyone that may be interested please tell them to visit www.Rent-An-Aquarium.com
Advice: Keep it clean! I do 45-50% water changes every week without fail. Also over filter your tanks as much as you can, I put twice the filtration recommended, it keeps the water cleaner, safer and more movement, If you can afford another filter theres no disadvantage
Fish Kept: Theres a few too many to list in my tanks now but basically, Male Only Aulonocara and Haps - Cichlids
Plants Kept: Plastic Plants, Ive never been a big fan of real plants.

About Yourself: Anybody found a 12 step group for fishaholism yet??
Advice: Slow and easy. Don't cut corners on filtration, shoot for atleast 10x/hr water turnover and dont waste your time with carbon!!! Use most if not all available space for Bio-Media. Nerite snail are the only way to go for algae control, never use algaecides. Feed your fish New Life Spectrum food. And last, but not least cycle tank with fish food not ammonia!

Obsession is a dangerous trait to have in this hobby…

About Yourself:

My friend warned me before getting into this hobby! He said it's more addicting than Crack Cocaine! I did not follow his warning...

Now Big Al is my new crack dealer!

Advice:

Read Everything! Have patients... Nothing happens overnight! When in doubt Test It!

Fish Kept: Community of Lake Malawi Mbuna's... Mostly Zebras, Yellow Labs, Bumble Bee Cichlids, Red tops Cobalt Blues, Blue Dolphins, Auratus, Johannii and several Red Tops, Kenyi and Albinos...
Plants Kept:

Substrate & Rock:
Texas Holy Rock, Tufa Rock, Lava Rock, Crushed Coral, Large Rock Gravel, and Pseudo Plants.

Strategically placed rock that creates cavernous caves and hidden travel corridors. I used Texas Holy rock & Tufa rocks that were placed on layer of large chunks of gravel, then covered with crushed coral. Cichlids love to dig, however the larger gravel supports and prevent an eager cichlid from playing contractor.

Tank Size: 75
Description:

Work in progress...

5 week old 75 Gallon Cichlids tank with 1 EMP 400, Ehiem 2028 Pro II Hydor 300 Watt Heater, Hydor Koralia 3, Hydor Ario 4, Two 48" T12 Actinic Deep Sea Bulbs and One T5 48" Colormax Full Spectrum 6700K, Coralife Titanium Ground Probe

Tons of caves and hiding spaces with corridors for behind the scene travel from cave to cave.

Advice: Take your time and DONT USE CHARCOAL!!!!(please read ahead as to why!!) If you decide to not use charcoal (and save a lot of $$), you MUST do at least a 30% water change at least once every other week. My tank is a little overstocked (they are African Cichlids!) and I do a 30% water change every week. They are breeding like crazy and it's the easiest tank to take care of.
Fish Kept: Too many to list. Mixed African Cichlid tank
Plants Kept: none
