Advice: Take it slow! Be sure to cycle your tank, and keep up maintenance. Water changes are important even if your water looks wonderful. Make sure your fish are compatible, and have room to grow. Most of all, have fun!

About Yourself: I had a severe phobia of fish since I was 10 years old, and a peacock eel jumped out of a tank and onto me. It scared me to death! I couldn't even walk through the fish section at a pet store without having a panic attack! Last year I took my kids to the public aquarium (after much begging and crying) and thought to myself I would just walk in the middle and not pay too much attention. I was terrified. But by the end of the day, I was fascinated! I wasn't scared anymore, and a couple months later, I set up my first tank, a 10 gallon, which I still have and all the fish are happy and healthy. Now I'm not scared at all, (at first I was still a little leery) and I'll even feed my mollies right from my fingers. It's so cool!
