55g High-Tech Tank Details
Lighting - is @ 175w for 6hrs. of a day & then 64w for 4hrs. of a day.
C02 - pressurized via 10lb tank w/milwaukee regulator,solenoid,bubblecounter - dispersed via a glass diffusor.
Fertilization - is done via the EI method every other day; Pot.-1/2tsp dry, Trace Elements-10-12ml mixed. I don't dose nitrates since they are 15ppm straight from tap.
Water - 50% water change and maintenance every Sunday |
Advice: | Never give up, it's all worth it in the end. This is my first planted tank. And despite my extensive research and years of keeping fish, this tank was a virtual nightmare for like 1.5 months. This is 4 months after setup from late November in 2007. The photo is from 3/19/08 |
Fish: | Currently, listed above, other than that, hundreds too many to name. Chichlids, tetras, barbs, etc. |
Corals/Plants: | Listed above. Other's that didn't do well were Pygmy chain sword (E. tenellus) and sagittaria subulata (dwarf sag). Sold an Echinidorus rose, got way to large and didn't accent the layout I was going for well.

I've been keep fish for 12+ years (Since I was like 11 or 12yrs old). I wanted to be a marine biologist when I was a child. I have always been fascinated by fish, oceans and aquatic life in general.
